I'm late getting to this post today but at least it is still Tuesday. I didn't make seven Granny squares this past week but I did make five. My reasoning is that it was my birthday and I had a lot of wonderful family and friend time that kept me busy.
Also, I know I had said last week that I had decided to make a giant Granny square but I changed my mind again and stuck with my original plan. I'll save the giant GS for another project. In fact, I know for certain that I am going to make a giant GS afghan for my husband's grandparents. He and I both think they'd love it. Here are pictures of the five squares I made this week and all six squares together:

Birthday Artistry
I celebrated my birthday over the weekend. I am extremely fortunate in that I was able to spend time with family and friends. On the morning of my birthday, my husband and daughters let me sleep in (a true gift in itself), made me a delicious breakfast. I would have been thrilled with just this as I adore nothing more than a peaceful day spent with my husband and daughters. However, they surprised the heck out of me with a gift that they made themselves. Shall I show you pictures?
Yes, I adore the band Duran Duran! My wonderful husband and sweet daughters made me a jacket celebrating the current incarnation of my favorite band. As it turns out - the original bits of the idea for this gift were my youngest daughter's. I love my gift but even more I love my family and their thoughtfulness. They make getting 'older' so worth it!

Beautiful Girl and the Fish
I am so in love with this photograph and want to share it. This is a picture of my daughter Miss B at the aquarium. Neither my husband or I have altered this photo in any way. I adore the way it looks as if our daughter is holding the fish on the left.

One A Day - Tuesday's Tallies
One A Day is hosted by Carole atGingerbread Girl and on Ravelry.
I just finished making a scarf for my husband's Grandma - our daughters' Great-Grandma - for her 83rd birthday. We all quite love it and even better - so does she. In fact, she told our oldest daughter that she plans to wear the scarf whenever she is chilly. Here are some pictures:
For my new One A Day project - I had decided to make ten inch Granny Squares like the one below. Which, by the way, is not showing the color well no matter what I do. The green is the same as in Grandma's scarf above. Anyway, I had decided on making a bunch of theses squares in different colors and attaching them all together for an afghan. Then I saw pictures of a giant Granny Square blanket and fell in love with that. Now I think I want to do the giant Granny blanket more than the series of squares. Aside from the fact that I love the way it looks - it also means not attaching multiple squares and that so appeals to me. So, I believe the below square is the start of one giant Granny square blanket. I figure I'll do a few rows a day until it gets to the point that one row/round will count for the 'one' per day. Wish me luck!
Now I'm off to get caught up on other lovely One a Day projects.

Current Crochet WIP
With the happy madness of Christmas behind us - I am indulging in a crochet project for myself. That's right - I am making myself something. My oldest daughter loves this project, too. She was a bit bummed that this one is for me but got over it quickly enough when I told her I'd make her one. For now, here are a few colorful pictures of my WIP:
